Human being may fail you, but God will never forsake thee. We are constantly faced with challenges in our lives that are beyond our control. If something goes wrong, it is often because of circumstances outside of our control. Take yesterday for example. I had to work late and got caught in several traffic jams on the way home.

This resulted in a long wait for my daughter in her carpool. I have no control over the traffic or the weather, so why should I feel guilty about my delay? The fact is that I don’t need to feel guilty because I didn’t do anything wrong. I did what everyone else does, drive home after work and get stuck in traffic like everyone else.

However, I did get another chance to get home and take care of my daughter when we arrived at school. Whenever we try to take things into our own hands and feel guilty about things that we can’t control, we suffer unnecessarily and miss out on the blessing that is always available to us: God’s love and grace. It doesn’t matter if we get fired from our jobs or if we lose our homes because of a natural disaster; God is always there to help us pick ourselves up and carry on with life.
